Choosing method of selecting carbide welding insert grade

It is an important technology of using cemented carbide welding blades to choose a suitable grade. Grade is the material of cemented carbide chips. It is direct matteringt the machining cost and cuttingefficiency.

Different material need different grade. For example, ordinary carbon steel and alloy steel are need different grade. 1. The welding cutting tool structure should have sufficient rigidity.

Sufficient rigidity based on the maximum allowed size and shape and higher strength steel and heat treatment.

 

2. Cemented carbide inserts should be fixed firmly.

Carbide welding inserts should be a sufficient degree of fixed firm, which is relied on slot and weldingquality to guarantee. Therefore, you should to select the shape of the insert slot according to the bladeshape and tool geometry parameters.

 

3. Examine arbor carefully.

To carry out the necessary checks to blade and arbor before blades welded to the shank.

First, you should check the blade bearing surface, make sure it can not be serious bending.

Second, the carbide welding surface may not have serious carburized layer.

Last, clear dirt carbide blade surface and arbor insert slot to ensure solid welding.

 

4. Select solder reasonably.

In order to ensure the weld strength, you should choose a suitable solder. In the welding process, you should ensure good wetting and flow, and the exclusion of air bubbles, make sure welding full contact with alloy welding face and no shortage of welding phenomenon.

 

5. Choose welding flux rightly.

It is better to use industrial borax and dehydrated in a drying oven before use, then crushed andsieve d to remove mechanical debris and set aside.

 

6. Net form shim.

In order to decrease the welding stress in high titanium low cobalt fine particle alloy welding, and long and thin alloy blade welding, we suggest to using slice with thickness of 0.2--0.5mm or Net form shim with bore diameter of 2--3mm as compensate shim.

 

7. Right way of cutter sharpening.

Since carbide chip are of good brittleness, and are sensitive to crack formation, so it should be avoid overheating or quenching during the cutter sharpening. Meanwhile, to avoid flawing and shorten service life of the tools, it should choose abrasion wheel with suitable particle size and reasonable grinding technology.

 

8. Right way of tool installing.

Cutter bit extend length of knife rest should as short as possible, or it will result in tool shaking and thereby damaging the alloy slice.

 

9. Right way of regrinding, grinding tool.

When it reach normal blunt, tools should be regrinded. After regrinding, it is necessary to polishing cutting edge and fillet with abrasive store. It can increase service life and safe reliability.
